From World War II onward, America’s good right arm was her fighting forces. These fighting forces had prevailed because that good right arm wielded magnificent weapons. Many of those weapons were conceived, designed, and produced by the thousands of dedicated professionals of North American Aviation.
Grand Marshal is Bob Hoover, an American who exemplified the spirit of American fighting forces and demonstrated the power of American technology. Hoover is a former air show pilot and United States Air Force test pilot, known for his wide-brimmed straw hat and wide smile. In aviation circles, he is often referred to as "The pilots' pilot."
Hoover is considered one of the founding fathers of modern aerobatics, and was described by General Jimmy Doolittle as, "... the greatest stick-and-rudder man who ever lived." In the Centennial of Flight edition of the Air & Space Smithsonian, he was named the third greatest aviator in history.
Grand Marshal Arrival: 10:30
Tribute Ceremony 11:30
Film and Talk 12:15
Please join us to honor the tradition, meet WWII
P-51 Aces, and admire beautifully restored aircraft and classic cars.

Please join us.
Metro encourages you to become involved with the project planning by coming to learn about the key features, ask questions and provide important feedback. All meetings are open to the public and we urge you to invite your friends and neighbors.
