The Los Angeles hearing was one of the few that was videotaped. Panelists from both NCRR and testifiers from the South Bay will share insights from the hearings and the impact it had on their lives and the community. Excerpts from the hearings will be shown with special attention to South Bay testimonies.

This is not an entertaining program and it is not recommended for children. The program includes a one hour video about the damage single use plastic is doing to our world and a discussion about how individuals can make a difference. Since the month of May is National Preservation Month, the Torrance Historical Society is kicking off their annual Walking Tours of Old Torrance (founded 1912) -- everyone is invited. The tour will also include information regarding how industrialist Jared Sidney Torrance, prompted by developing labor troubles in Los Angeles, decided in 1910 to build a "workingman's paradise" -- a model industrial city halfway between Los Angeles and the San Pedro harbor. The tour is an easy, but brisk walk covering eight blocks -- the walk is approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, and is hosted on the fourth Sunday of every month, May - October. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended, and guests are invited to bring a camera, and a friend!
