Come and learn ways to reduce and recycle yard waste by composting, “grasscycling,” worm composting, and water-wise gardening at Torrance’s permanent composting and water-wise gardening demonstration site at Columbia Park. It is operated in conjunction with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works.
The Beginning Workshop teaches backyard composting, worm composting, grass recycling, water-wise gardening, and fire-wise gardening.

The City of Torrance Community Services Department invites the entire family to participate in our Annual Harry Sutter Memorial Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot Fun Run. This three-mile fun run will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Thanksgiving morning. After the fun run, there will be a spectacular post run prize drawing for mountain bikes, dinner vouchers, gym memberships and many other outstanding prizes.
