You will find orchids galore and more at this annual plant lovers show featuring exhibits by leading Californian and Hawaiian growers, potting and corsage demonstrations, orchid classes, and hourly opportunity drawings for unique prizes. A judged competition event will be a highlight at this years show and sale.

The South Bay Scooter Club meets the first Saturday of every month for a chance to ride around the South Bay on our scooters with fellow scooter enthusiasts. Though vintage Italian scooters are preferred, all types of scooters are always welcome. Meet at Claim Jumper restaurant in Torrance at 12:30pm. Ride leaves around 1pm-ish. Different routes and end spots are chosen every month. Come out and ride!!

The Western Museum of Flight (WMoF) WMoF Celebrity Series welcomes Barry Tyson, long time Garrett AiResearch executive. Although the company has gone thru numerous name changes, the founder’s name, Garrett, the value of Cliff Garrett and Garrett AiResearch can’t be overlooked. Garrett AiResearch (founded in 1936), had to relocate (1959) from their facilities to make room for expansion of LAX. Garrett moved to 190th and Crenshaw in Torrance. GAR started with military aircraft turbines but became known for as a major innovator and supplier in the airline industry. Turbo engines, turbo fans, foil bearings, heat transfer and even the first inflatable airliner evacuation slides. Join us as Tyson shares some fascinating insights into the history and achievements of this quintessential American institution.
