Coastal Clean Up Day at Torrance Beach, hosted by Honda and the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce, is the largest volunteer day on the planet, which is coordinated with the Ocean Conservancy, California Coastal Commission, L.A. Department of Beaches and Harbors and Heal the Bay.
Torrance recognizes that by cleaning up the beaches, the community is participating in this global effort to keep our oceans healthy, to keep our water source healthy, and to keep our community healthy. This year's event will take place on Saturday, September 15 at Miramar Park in Torrance.
Volunteers meet at Miramar Park in Torrance to pick up trash and contribute to maintaining cleanliness at Torrance Beach, which begins at Calle Miramar and ends at Paseo De La Playa. There will be refreshments, giveaways, and students can earn up to three hours in community service!
As witnessed by Mayor Frank Scotto and members of City Council and City staff, Coastal Clean Up Day received an overwhelming response from the public last year in Torrance, with a record number of volunteers in attendance.
