With Halloween less then two weeks away, the Western Museum of Flight (WMoF) Celebrity Speakers Series adds a little flair for the mysterious with Pat Macha, author, TV host and one of America’s leading authorities on aircraft wrecks and recoveries.
The search for lost aircraft in remote, rugged country is always interesting, but when combined with the relief and gratitude of families who finally learn the fates of their loved ones, it is also inspirational. Mysterious legends air wrecks such the Devil’s Spine, billionaire and aviating record holder Steve Fossett, finding the WWII plane Tigercat piloted by Capt. Thomas, considered the "holy grail" of airplane wrecks, plus much more come to mind.
Macha will give you the “the plane truth" about aircraft accidents by sharing details of his most recent and exotic discoveries, and also tell us some stories of families of lost airmen, who finally found peace, through his dedicated efforts.
Please join us. We promise it will be a memorable experience.
As always, WMOF Members are free; non-members are $5, which also includes access to WMOF museum exhibits. Free parking.
Finish out your 2011 calendars, coming up: Dr. Gary B. Fogel on Southern California Soaring (Nov. 19th) and Barry Tyson: Pointing the Way Toward Unmanned Vehicles (Dec. 17th).
