This Los Angeles premiere is adapted to the bharata natyam idiom by the world celebrated dancer, Chandalika, choreographed and danced by Mythili with world renowned musicians from India and the USA. This performance is a tribute to the late Dr. Anindita Datta, the Bengali visionary of Southern California who enhanced and inspired the community and beyond with her love and passion for the Bengali heritage. This evening will also include a film on Tagore, a Rabindra sangeet-nritya presentation and the featured event Chandalika.

Herb Ohta Jr., son of Ukulele Hall of Fame inductee Ohta-San, discovered early on that Hawaiian music is in his blood and the ukulele in his genes. Although reminiscent of his father’s, Herb’s style is distinct and recognizable as his own. As a teacher, composer, recording artist and producer, Herb shares the beauty of Hawaii’s music, its culture, and the wonders of the ukulele all over the world. A seven-time Na Hoku Hanohano Award Nominee and a two-time Hawaiian Music Award Winner, Herb has two releases in Japan and co-authored two ukulele instructional books with Grammy Award winning artists Daniel Ho.
