Masanga Marimba plays traditional music from Latin America and Africa. The instruments used consist of seven Zimbabwean marimbas of various sizes along with vocals, drums, percussion, saxophone, and trumpet. The word masanga comes from an African word that means the coming together of rivers or roads representing the group’s blending of African, Latin, and American sounds. A variety of food vendors will be available for lunch throughout the performance.

Since the 1500s Madrid has been ruled by kings with a great love of art and lots of money. The Prado and the Escorial Palace reflect the wealth generated from the gold taken from the New World. Artists Picasso and Sorolla along with royal heirs Thuyssen-Bornememixza have added significantly to the city’s collection of art.
