Reptiles have an extremely diverse evolutionary history that has led to biological successes (dinosaurs, pterosaurs, etc.).Reptiles first arose from amphibians in the swamps during the Carboniferous period. Increasing evolutionary pressure and the vast untouched niches of land powered these changes. Environmental selection propelled the development of certain traits like protective scales, lungs to breath air, hard external eggs, etc. Please join Marc Gallup for a relaxing and informative program that explains how these remarkable adaptive animals have been able to survive for so long.
