Madrona Marsh Nature Center and Preserve, 3201 Plaza del Amo, Torrance
Would you like to become a junior naturalist? During this series of classes, students will learn about nature and develop observation and documentation skills so that they can better understand the natural world. This series of classes will occur on the 9th & 11th, 16th & 18th, and 23rd & 25th Tuesday and Thursday of this month only from 10:00 a.m. - 12 noon. Ages 8+. $5 per person per class. Join the Propagation Society and Linda Gonzales as we plant seeds for the future of the Madrona Marsh Preserve. Learn how to: prepare soil for planting on the marsh, grow native plants for restoration and fund raising events at the Madrona Marsh, 'pot up' plants to larger containers, collect and 'clean' seeds and prune native plants in the nursery. This program occurs every Thursday of the month of every month from 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Best for adults or college age students. Ages 21+. Free! Fun In The Sun: The City of Torrance Community Services Department invites the public to stop in for Fun In The Sun at the parks this Summer. The following parks will offer a variety of innovative group based outdoor games designed to stimulate and challenge participants. Hours: 12:30-2:30 p.m. on the dates listed.
