Take a guided walk on the Madrona Marsh Preserve and learn about the flora and fauna that live in our captivating vernal marsh. You'll see how living things interact in their habitat and learn the value of wetlands in in our urban environment. This walk occurs on the 4th Saturday & 4th Sunday of the month of every month from 10:00 a.m. - 12 noon. All are welcome! Great for seniors. Free! Donations accepted. The Torrance Historical Society is hosting a free docent-led Walking Tour of Old Torrance, and you're invited! The Tour will point out many of the historic sites and landmarks of Old Torrance. The tour is an easy, but brisk walk covering eight blocks. It's open to the public, requires no reservations, and is hosted on the fourth Sunday of every month, May - October. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Bring your camera, and a friend!

From Torrance to Transylvania, from Redondo to Romania, to the always haunted Torrance Historical Society & Museum, you are cordially invited to participate in an Evening of Poe(try) -- selected readings of Edgar Allan Poe. Costumes are optional, but encouraged. All ghastly, ghostly and ghoulish friends are welcome (Zombies and Vampires by special invitation only) Guests are also welcome to recite a scary poem by a favorite author or to share one of their own ghastly odes (or, just listen to those being read). We dare you to join us, as we get into the spirit of the season. This is event is free, open to the public (present and past), no reservations are required. There will be candy and other tricky treats!
