Registration takes place at City Hall West Annex 3031 Torrance Blvd. Torrance, CA 90503
Resident fax-in and mail-in registration is July 17-30, 2012. The After School Program is geared towards youth in elementary and middle schools. This recreation program is designed to promote self-esteem through group interaction and self-expression. The program offers games, sports, music, group discussions, guest speakers and a wide variety of activities. Structured time is set aside for homework each day. This is not a tutorial based program. This program is based on a ratio of one staff member per ten youth at Elementary School and one staff member per thirteen youth at Middle Schools. Enrollment is limited at all schools. PLEASE NOTE: The After School Club Program is designed for Torrance Residents. Torrance residents will have the first opportunity to register for the program. After the resident registration, Non-Torrance residents will have an opportunity to register for any remaining spaces. The After School Club Program follows the TUSD calendar and meets on campus Monday-Friday after school until 6:00 p.m. The program is offered at the following schools: Elementary Schools Arnold 4100 W. 227th St. Carr 3404 W. 168th St. Edison 3800 W.182nd St. Greenwood 1520 Greenwood Ave. Torrance 2125 Lincoln Ave. Victor 4820 Spencer St. Walteria 24456 Madison St. Yukon 17815 Yukon Ave. Middle Schools Bert Lynn 5038 Halison St. Casimir 17220 Casimir Ave. Hull 2080 W. 231st St. Madrona 21364 Madrona Ave. Magruder 4100 W. 185th St. Richardson 23751 Nancy Lee Ln. For information on the After School Club Program and a variety of other youth programs, please call the Community Services Department at (310) 618-2930. All participants must be a student at the school for which they are registering and also must be picked up by an adult, age 18 or older. Resident fax-in and mail-in registration is July 17-30, 2012. Resident walk-in registration begins August 21, 2012. Non-resident walk-in registration begins August 28, 2012. Don’t spend Summer at home! Come to summer camp and enjoy fun filled days participating in indoor crafts, outdoor games, walking field trips and an excursion every week! Torrance Summer Camps will hold 10 weekly sessions from Monday, June 18, 2012 to Friday, August 24, 2012, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Fees range from $125 to $155 per week. Fun Camp, for ages 6-11, is held at Greenwood Park and La Romeria Park. Teen Camp, for ages 12-14, is held at Greenwood Park. Sports Camp, for ages 7-13, is held at Wilson Park. Extended Care is also available for Camps. Morning Care is 7:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Fees are $20 for residents and $25 for non-residents. Summer Parks: The City of Torrance Community Services Department invites the public to stop in for fun at the parks this Summer. Recreation staff will be leading and supervising activities and crafts at no cost! Young children should be accompanied by an adult, as this is a drop in program where children can come and go as they please.
