The Old Torrance Neighborhood Association (OTNA) has invited representatives from Simon Property Group, Inc. (SPG), the world's leading retail real estate company and owners of the Del Amo Fashion Center, to discuss the remodel of the Del Amo Mall -- one of the most recognized and successful enclosed shopping malls in America.
Set to begin in Spring of 2013, first on the list of improvements of the iconic 2.3 million square foot shopping center centrally located in Torrance, is replacement of the existing food court with a garden-inspired dining area and renovation of the interior of a portion of the north mall, which is scheduled to be completed by this year's holiday shopping season.
A highlight of the redevelopment upgrades which Simon hopes to commence in 2014, and complete by holiday 2015, is the replacement of the single level mall north of the Macy's women's store with a new two-level mall and the addition of Nordstrom. The new Nordstrom store is expected to be two levels and will connect to the existing Macy's women's store, which will have a new mall entry into its third level women's clothing departments.
