El Retiro Library, 126 Vista Del Parque, Redondo Beach
The El Retiro Library will be closed for approximately two months to undergo ADA improvements. The project will include modification of the public restroom and library entry. While El Retiro Library is closed, other Torrance Library locations will be open for your reading, reference, and recreational needs. Print and audiovisual materials may be returned in the outside drops or at any other Torrance Library location. Toddler storytime will resume in the winter session, and the book discussion group will meet at Walteria Library in October. Join us for our restoration program every Saturday of the month of every month from 8:45 a.m. - 12 noon on the Madrona Marsh Preserve planting natives, weeding, propagating or maybe watering new plants. Wear closed toe shoes, bring gloves and be ready to work. Refeshments are provided. Rain or a holiday that fall on a Saturday cancels this program. Be on time - late comers will not be able to work. Each year since the inaugural event in 2001, MWCon has grown from a simple meeting of local www.Macrossworld.com message board members (fans of the Japanese amime series, “Macross”) to becoming one of the largest gatherings of American Macross fans. Convention attendees can win door prizes, view custom toy & model displays, participate in cosplay contests, visit vendors, and see the concert by Mari Iijima, original voice of Lynn Minmay.

The South Bay Scooter Club meets the first Saturday of every month for a chance to ride around the South Bay on our scooters with fellow scooter enthusiasts. Though vintage Italian scooters are preferred, all types of scooters are always welcome. Meet at Tony Romas restaurant in Torrance at 12:30pm. Ride leaves around 1pm-ish. Different routes and end spots are chosen every month. Come out and ride!!
