Ever wonder what to do with the clippings when you prune your native plants? One of the more creative uses is to dye yarn or cloth with them. This workshop by Connie Vadheim will show you an easy way to dye yarn using nothing more than water, cuttings from your garden, a large jar and the heat of the sun. This simple method is a good introduction to the fascinating world of natural dyes. Best for adult, ages 10+. Free! Donations accepted. Saturday, December 8, 2012 | 8:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Torrance Theatre Company - 1316 Cabrillo Ave, Torrance, CA
No one can forget Charles Dickens' ever classic tale of Scrooge, a lonely miser, who finds the spirit of Christmas with help from visions from his past, present and future. Christopher Schario's adaptation of Dickens' powerful work certainly will not disappoint. Through powerful language, humor and tenderness, this delightful version of A Christmas Carol tells the story of the redemption of a human soul.

Saturday, December 8, 2012 | 8:00 PM
James Armstrong Theatre [Torrance Cultural Arts Center] 3330 Civic Center Drive
Pop culture humorist Charles Phoenix celebrates how we decorated, dressed up, dined, and drank for the holidays in the 50s and 60s. With abundant joy, clever wit, and a keen eye for odd ball detail, Charles supercharges the classic living room slide show into a laugh-out-loud roast and toast of kitschy mid-century New Year’s, Easter, The Fourth of July, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas life.
