Join us for our habitat restoration program every Saturday from 8:45 a.m. - 12 noon on the Madrona Marsh Preserve planting natives, weeding, propagating or maybe watering new plants. Wear closed toe shoes, bring gloves and be ready to work. Refreshments are provided. Rain or a holiday that fall on a Saturday cancels this program. Be on time - late comers will not be able to work. In conjunction with the Paradox Maintenance Technicians Exhibition, TAM will host a lively panel discussion on the direction of painting in Los Angeles. The panel will consist of: Artists, writers, curators and gallery owners who are experts in the field of painting and have in depth knowledge of current paiting trends in Los Angeles. Panel includes: Kevin Appel, Catlin Moore, Max Presneill, Christopher Pate and Grant Vetter and will be moderated by Jason Ramos. Preceeding the panel discussion: 1-2pm - Artist Karen Cope will be doing a live sculpture demonstration using her "drawing in space" method of sculpting 2-3 pm - Grant Vetter will read and discuss his 2012 book, The Architecture of Control: A Contribution to the Critique of the Science of Apparatuses.
