The City of Torrance offers a Youth Flag Football program for boys and girls grade K – 8. Registration begins June 7, 2016 for residents and June 14, 2016 for non-residents. Registration can be completed by phone (310) 618-2720; fax, (310) 781-7598; at the Registration office 3031 Torrance Blvd. (two buildings east of the library); or online at; www.TorranceCA.Gov/9087.htm The last day to register is Sept. 29, 2016. For information about registration call (310) 618-2720. The games are tentatively set to begin Oct. 1, 2016. This is an eight-week league, and all games will be played at Charles Wilson Park. Join us for our Habitat Restoration program every Saturday of every month from 8:45 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. on the Madrona Marsh Preserve planting natives, weeding, propagating or maybe watering new plants. Wear closed toe shoes, bring gloves and be ready to work. Refreshments are provided. Rain or a holiday that fall on a Saturday cancels this program. Be on time - late comers will not be able to work. An alumna of San Francisco Opera's prestigious Merola program, Ms. Vasquez has performed with the LA Opera, Pacific Symphony Orchestra, and the Asia America Symphony Orchestra. Her winning program will include arias, mariachis, and show tunes. This program is free, sponsored by the Friends of the Torrance Library, and no reservations are required.
