Message from the Chief
On behalf of the men and women of the Torrance Police Department, welcome to our webpage.  I am proud to lead the extraordinary men and women of one of the finest law enforcement agencies in the nation.

As a progressive, professional organization, we take pride in delivering the highest level of quality service.  Rooted in sincere care and concern for the Torrance community, our dedicated employees achieve our mission of ensuring safety by serving with pride, compassion, excellence, and integrity.

We understand that crime and the fear of crime can best be reduced through the employment of a well-rounded approach that consists of education, prevention, intervention and enforcement.  We also understand that keeping a community safe is based on the support and involvement of the community; thus, we constantly strive to enhance our relationships with the community through communication.  We have introduced a Focus Based Policing philosophy that is assisting us in accomplishing all of these goals.

We hope the information included throughout this web site helps you understand the overall function and responsibilities of the Torrance Police Department and its commitment to enhancing the quality of life in the City of Torrance.  Feel free to contact us with your comments or questions, we welcome your feedback.
