Message from the Chief

On behalf of the men and women of the Torrance Police Department, I thank you for your steadfast support of our organization.

Our sworn police officers, civilian staff, and volunteer corps, are committed to ensuring that Torrance is a community where businesses thrive, and visitors and residents live, work, and play in a safe environment. Your safety, security, and satisfaction is our highest priority, and we will work in collaboration with the other city departments in order to achieve this goal.

We also realize what greatly contributes to our success as a department is strong community participation and support. This website is designed to keep you informed and engaged with your police department. Additionally, we use social media as a platform to communicate important and time sensitive information to you, so it is a great partner to the information provided on this website.

It is a privilege to serve as your Chief of Police, and I welcome your input so that we can strive for ways to continuously improve our service to the community.

Mark A. Matsuda
