Patrol Beat Maps

Patrol units are assigned to a designated area of the City each shift. The Officers assigned to a particular area (known as a "beat") are responsible for calls for service such as reports, in progress crimes and any other issues that need police response.  Click below to view the Patrol Beat Maps which are seperated by work shift.  The numbers corresponding to each shift are related to the military clock and were originally based on the time the officers began their shift (i.e. "07Watch" orginally came to work at 7 a.m.).  Over the years, the reporting times were shifted as the Department shifted to a 4 day, 10 hour shift schedule.  The Beat Maps below reflect our most recent beat/unit realignment in preparation for the move to Team Policing, which will occur in January of 2010.  The beat maps also reflect the new unit call signs that were changed in preparation for our transition into Team Policing.
