"Partners In Policing" is a 12 week Community Awareness Program that educates the community by allowing them to "walk in the shoes of an officer," and experience hands-on exercises relating to the duties, services and responsibilities of policing. Participants will meet officers from the Gang Detail, SWAT, K-9 Detail, Crime Scene Investigation and interact with a variety of officers from the details within the department. Must be 18 or older to attend. Click here
for more information and to register for the class. Class begins Thursday, October 9, 2014 from 6-8:30PM. Participants will meet at the Torrance Police Station on Thursday nights 6-8:30PM for 12 weeks.
The Torrance Police Department along with the Special Olympics of Southern California will be hosting a Tip-A-Cop at Red Robin, located at the South Bay Galleria (1815 Hawthorne Blvd Redondo Beach). The Torrance Police Department will be working with the staff at Red Robin as hosts and servers. This is a regional event and we will be working with Officers from other agencies as well. Officers will be accepting tips from dinner patrons to benefit local Special Olympics Southern California South Bay athletes. Come support your local Law Enforcement Officers and enjoy fine food and fun!
