The first four characters of the serial number on most models will range from 8308 through 9452. This is typically the case for all company and trade Names using Consolidated Industries designators HCC, HAC and HBA in their model numbers.

Most NOX rod furnaces have an "X" at the end of the model number, but not all. The X will usually appear as the last character or the next to the last character. This is typically the case for all company and trade names using Consolidated Industries designators HCC, HAC and HBA in their model numbers. Company and trade names using their own unique model numbers may not include the X to designate a NOX rod furnace.

If there is any doubt when trying to identify a Consolidated Industries NOX rod furnace, a competent, licensed, heating, ventilation and air conditioning contractor should examine the inside of the furnace and look for the NOX rods clipped on to the burners.
