Headed by a Division Chief, and supported by a Training Coordinator and an Emergency Medical Services Coordinator, the talented personnel of the Operations Division of the Torrance Fire Department provide life safety, environmental protection, and property conservation through the following emergency response programs:
The basic service delivery vehicles are 4 person engine companies; 3 or 4 person ladder truck companies; paramedic units, each staffed by 2 certified paramedics; and specialty response vehicles.
The Torrance Fire Department staffs 7 engine companies, 2 truck companies, 5 paramedic squads, 1 air and light unit, and 1 shift commander in 6 fire stations throughout the city.
