The Torrance Fire Department, Hazardous Materials Administration is the lead agency for the City of Torrance dealing with remediation of contaminated property.  We are the lead agency for clean up of contaminated soil due to leaking underground storage tanks, associated equipment or piping and oversee closure of oil well sites.  All other clean up activities due to hazardous materials releases are overseen by other county or state agencies with jurisdiction.
