Salary:  The Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Coordinator is a 40 hours per week contract position with the City of Torrance Fire Department. The starting hourly rate is dependant upon qualifications of the person awarded the contract.

Position:  Under direction from the Paramedic Coordinator, this contract position has administrative responsibility for the supervision of the Emergency Medical Services Continuous Quality Improvement program. The CQI Coordinator will assure the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) program is in compliance with local and state rules and regulations. The CQI Coordinator plans, coordinate, monitors, tracks, records, documents, and evaluates the effectiveness of Emergency Medical Services activities for the Fire Department. The CQI Coordinator will use information from the QI program to address performance needs of the Department. The CQI Coordinator will serve as a liaison between the Fire Department and hospitals, medical direction authorities, and other outside agencies, regarding EMS activities, procedures, policies, and mandates. Other related duties as required for Quality Improvement and Assurance.

Desirable Qualifications:  Five (5) years of experience in the delivery of emergency medical care, pre-hospital care, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the duties of the position listed above. Bachelor's Degree In Nursing, Allied Health Science, or related field is desirable. Experience as a Mobil Intensive Care Nurse, or Prehospital Care Coordinator is desirable. Possession of a California Register Nursing License and valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's License is required. Must possess Microsoft Windows based computer skills.
