Ages 2-4 Parent & Me Swim (Summer session only)
This class helps children become comfortable in the water as they develop a readiness to swim. Parents and instructors work together to help children adjust to the water. This program is not designed to teach children to become accomplished swimmers but to provide information and techniques for parents to orient their children to the water, and to learn how to safely supervise their water activities. Each child must be accompanied into the water by a parent or other responsible adult. All non-participants must observe from the observation deck or grass area.
Ages 4 - 6 Tadpole (Limit two classes per child per session)
Participants enrolling in more than two sessions on-line will be dropped with no refund or credit. Water adjustment activities, basic forms of swimming and water safety skills are emphasized. Children work in groups to discover the joys of water fun in a safe environment. Parents are not allowed in the water or on the pool deck during class.
Ages 7 - 12 Learn to Swim
A Red Cross Program designed to teach Levels I-VI (beginning to advanced swimmer). At the first class the children are tested and placed in groups according to their skill level. Parents are not allowed in the water or on the pool deck during class.
Ages 13 -17 Youth Swim
A Red Cross Program designed to teach Levels I-VI (beginning to advanced swimmers). At the first class the children are tested and placed in groups according to their skill level. Students may register for more than one session.
Ages 18 + Adult Swim Lessons
Participants are tested and placed in swim classes according to their ability. Red Cross Levels I to VI are taught.

Ages 7 - 17 Pre-Competitive Swim
Class focuses on perfecting the four competitive strokes, racing starts and turns. Prerequisite: Participants must be able to swim 100 yards front crawl, backstroke, and breaststroke. This will not meet the needs of children who need beginning to advance beginning swim instruction.
Ages 7 - 17 Competitive Swim Team (Summer session only)
Prerequisite: Participant must be able to swim a minimum of 100 yards with front crawl, backstroke, and breaststroke with correct form. Represent your city by being a member of the Torrance Aquatic Club. Coached workouts prepare swimmers for local and county meets held on Saturdays. Fee includes T-shirt and awards (swim suits will be paid for separately). Participants are expected to compete in all meets. This class will not meet the needs of children who need beginning to advanced beginning swim instruction.
Ages 7-17 Water Polo Basics (Summer session only)
Learn how to play Water Polo. The basic rules and strategies of the game will be discussed. Students must be able to swim and be comfortable in deep water. This class will not meet the needs of beginning swimmers.
Ages 8-18 Sync or Swim (Fall, Winter & Spring Sessions)
Sync or swim is the City of Torrance synchronized swim team. It offers new and exciting opportunities for serious synchronized swimmers. Members of the team will observe and participate in exclusive competitions with synchronized swimmers from all over southern California and Nevada.
Ages 8-17 Synchronized Swim (Summer session only)
Prerequisite: Participants must be able to swim 50 yards front crawl and backstroke with good form, tread water and be comfortable in deep water. Basic techniques of synchronized swimming are taught. This class culminates with the Annual Aquacade program. Attendance is necessary throughout the summer. A mandatory parent's meeting will be held at the beginning of each session. A $25 costume fee will be collected at the parent meeting (checks only). Class meets four times per week.
Ages 18+ Adult Water Exercise Class
This no impact exercise class is ideal for joints, muscles and rehabbing injuries. It will help maintain flexibility and muscle tone and is great for socializing.
LATE PICK UP FEE
A late fee will be charged for participants who are picked up late. The clock at the facility will be used to determine the time.
The late fee is $10.00 for every 15 minute interval or portion there of that you are late picking up the child.
For example: a class that ends at 10:20am, between 10:21 and 10:36am is a $10.00 late fee; pick up between 10:37 and 10:52am is
a $20.00 late fee.

RULES FOR LAP SWIMMING
You must be 15+
Proof of age or high school ID is required - No exceptions!
Participants swim under the supervision of a lifeguard.
No instruction is provided and all levels are welcome.
NO COACHING OR PRIVATE INSTRUCTION ALLOWED.

Monday - Thursday: 8:30pm - 9:30pm

RECREATION SWIM RULES
- No unauthorized private coaching or private instruction allowed
- Swimsuits must be worn (no street clothes except basketball shorts, rash guards are allowed, but must NOT be red).
- No food or drink allowed on deck (plastic bottled water is okay)
- During recreational swim, each child under 50 inches tall must be accompanied into the water by an adult (one child per adult)
- No life jackets or flotation devices are allowed in the pool.
- All guests must exit the pool building/facility 15 minutes after closing.
