Students can also access the Student Center or the College Center to receive help in Math, Science, Social Studies, or English, along with ProofPoint Essay Review or the SkillsCenter Resource Library 24/7. In the Career Center adults are also able to receive assistance from Career Help, Citizenship, GED Prep, or Back-to-School.
Connecting to a tutor is easy! Students simply click on the Live Homework Help® icon above and then, if connecting directly from the Library, at the first screen that appears:
· Select your grade/age level
· Select the subject you need help with
· Click "Connect"! You will be connected to the next available tutor for your subject and grade/age level in a few minutes or less.
If you are connecting from a computer outside of the Library you must type in the barcode on your Library card in the box on the Login screen. Please be sure to enter all 14 digits of the barcode no spaces, (for example 22111*******). Then you will complete steps 1, 2, and 3 that are listed above at the next screen that appears.
Once connected, student and tutor will enter an "The Online Classroom," where both parties can use a variety of tools, including instant messaging and a dynamic whiteboard with a full suite of drawing and math tools. They can also browse the web together for relevant web pages and Internet resources to further the learning process online and to share a rewarding learning experience.
