ENTERING SIXTH GRADE
This school year, we are asking that each incoming 6th grader read THREE books over the summer vacation. It is our hope that this program will encourage reading for enjoyment as well as keeping their minds active. Due to our demanding curriculum, we are also requesting that ALL incoming 6th graders read Hatchet the 1st book in the series by Gary Paulsen, as their first book selection. Their second book should be from the non-fiction genre. The remaining book can be any of the following books as long as they have not read the book before. Please note, if you and your child decide to join the summer reading program at the local library, the student is still required to read Hatchet Thank you for all your support on this matter and we look forward to a new and exciting school year.
