    The City of Torrance prides itself on its Parks, Recreation, Cultural and Library programs. The City boasts of the 40 parks and recreational facilities, including 44-acre Wilson Park, 52-acre Columbia Park, Madrona Marsh Preserve, golf course, swimming pool, gym, tennis courts and 1.5 miles of lifeguard patrolled beach with newly renovated public facilities. The Parks and Recreation Department is committed to providing quality programs, services and leisure opportunities for citizens of all ages which include classes, sports, activities, clubs, seniors, facilities, parks, marsh, and the farmers market. The Torrance Public Library System oversees one Main Library and 5 branch libraries. 
  • Cultural Arts
    The Torrance Cultural Arts Center is a multi-purpose complex built for maximum convenience. The Center's design provides versatile accommodations that can enhance the atmosphere of any event from business meetings to social gatherings. The Center houses the James Armstrong Theatre, George Nakano Theatre, the Torrance Art Museum at the Joslyn Center, the Torino Festival Plaza, the Ken Miller Recreation Center, the Pine Wind Japanese Garden, Community Meeting Halls and banquet rooms, and Visual and Performing Arts Studios.
