Friends of the Library
Want to know more about the Friends of the Library? Here's an opportunity to meet some of the friendliest Friends we know! Reporter Hope Witkowsky has done an excellent job profiling them in this episode of Senior Scene. Senior Scene is produced by Torrance CitiCABLE and is on daily at 11:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.  If you are interested in becoming a member of the Friends, click here. If you would like to volunteer with the Friends, click here. The Library would like to give the Friends a big thank you for all they do for the Library and our patrons!

As part of the Library's continuous effort to improve services to the community, we will be undergoing a renovation to the first floor lobby of the Katy Geissert Civic Center Library.  The renovation will open up traffic flow through the lobby; install a new ergonomic service desk that is attractive and inviting to patrons, while also allowing the Library to use our limited staff more efficiently. Construction will begin February 2nd and is due for completion by May 2015.
In the mean time, the circulation desk has been temporarily relocated. We apologize for any inconvenience to Library patrons. However, we will carry out this construction without having to close, reduce hours, or modify services at the main Library.

Torrance Public Library presents a series of programs in which we encourage everyone to get moving, get informed, and get healthy! See the online Calendar of Events at www.TorranceCA.Gov/Events  for a complete schedule, download a PDF calendar of events, or call 310-530-5044.
