PROJECT Q & A

Question: Will there be root pruning on the curbside AND sidewalk side of the trees, or will that be determined by the contractor's hired Arborist?
Answer: The contractor's arborist will determine the side, but if damage is on both sides, the tree is most likely scheduled for removal, not root pruning.

Question: The specs do not make clear whether the trees that will be root pruned are supposed to have the canopies pruned as well?  Standard no.T402(sheet 1) says "When required, trees shall be pruned to balance root pruning and root removal."  Will this also be determined by the hired Arborist?
Answer: Yes.  However, the City has recently pruned the trees in anticipation of this project, so if the contractor's arborist determines it is necessary, the situation(s) in whichcanopies need pruning should be minimal.
