Governing Code: Divsion 1, Chapter 6, Article 2, Sections 16.2.1 - 16.2.11.

The Torrance Disaster Council is created and consists of the following members (or, due to their unavailability, appropriate designees):
a) The Director of Emergency Services, who is the City Manager;
b) The Assistant Director of Emergency Services, who is the Assistant City Manager;
c) The Deputy Director of Emergency Services, who is the Chief of Police;
d) The Emergency Services Coordinator.

The Torrance Disaster Council will meet upon call of the Director of Emergency Services.

The Diaster Council provides recommendations to the City Council on matters pertinent to the development of mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery plans and programs for any potential local emergency. Disaster Council meetings also provide for communication and coordination between the public and private sectors of the City in analyzing local hazards and developing response plans.
