Field Rental:
The following fields are available for rental: Columbia, De Portola, El Nido, Guenser, La Romeria, Mc Master, Walteria & Wilson. All organized groups/ teams/ leagues/ organizations are required to obtain a field permit. All groups exceeding 25 people are required to obtain a permit. Please allow 2 business days for field permits to be processed.
Field Use Fees:
All sports field users will be charged a field fee of $15.00 per field per hour for sports field use, including practices, leagues, and tournaments. There is a two-hour minimum for field permits. This fee does not apply to long-term permits for Torrance based youth non-profit organization regular season and playoff games. Proof of non-profit status and insurance is required for long term permits. Insurance is required for tournaments and groups exceeding 100 people (including players and spectators).
Light Fees:
Field light fees will be charged to all groups requesting use of the field lighting systems at the following rate: $15.00 per field/per hour. A $25 refundable key deposit will be collected when light key is issued. Lights are available at Columbia, El Nido, Mc Master, Walteria & Wilson.
Lights at Wilson Park ae controlled by staff, no light key/ deposit is required. Field lights scheduled after the Sports Center is closed will incure an additional fee of $15 per hour for staff. This fee will apply to Saturdays from 7-10pm and Sundays from 8-10pm.
Field Prep:
Those groups that request field preparation will be charged a fee of $35.00 per field per day (2 field minimum for dragging) and an additional fee of $22.50 per field per day for chalk and bases. These requests must be submitted with the application and are subject to the availability of staff. Field prep is only for softbal fields at Wilson.
General Policies
All parks shall be open to the public between the hours of 6:00 A.M. and 10:00 P.M. No person shall enter or remain in any park between the hours of 10:00 P.M. and 6:00 A.M., except when engaged in an activity scheduled or permitted by the City (TMC 49.2.1).
No alcoholic beverages of any type are allowed on City parks or fields, or in any park facility (TMC 49.2.6).
Sports fields will be permitted for the appropriate use only, per the Community Services Director (49.2.7). Hard balls are not permitted on Torrance softball fields.
Amplified sound is not allowed on City parks and fields without a Sound Permit. This includes music, musical instruments, and loudspeakers.
For all field permits, the City of Torrance reserves the right to close the fields due to inclement weather or for the purpose of maintenance. Fields will be closed on days that have rain, or on days where there is standing water on the fields.
