DOWNTOWN SEWER REHABILITATION - PHASE 2, I-69

City of Torrance
Public Works Department
Engineering Division

Downtown Sewer Rehabilitation, I-69

Engineering Manager: Elizabeth Overstreet, P.E
Project Manager: Key Ebarle, P.E.
Project Engineer: Joe Enzmann, P.E.

Description:

This project will rehabilitate various sewers in downtown Torrance and other locations in the City. In some locations, the existing underground sewer pipe will be repaired in place by insertion of a plastic liner. This repair method eliminates the need to excavate trenches and minimizes potential impacts to the streets, alleys, and adjacent properties. In other locations, excavation will be necessary for larger repairs or to replace a portion of the existing sewer pipe with a new vitrified clay pipe (VCP) sewer. In addition, two sewer manholes will be constructed.

Construction is scheduled to begin in May, 2011, and continue through October, 2011. The project construction budget is $229,000. For questions about this project, please contact Joe Enzmann at (310) 618-3062 or at jenzmann@TorranceCA.Gov
