Mayor's Letter

August 10, 2010

Dear Torrance Citizens:

Recently, media coverage has highlighted the unusual compensation provisions of a Southland city in relationship to its City Council and certain key staff. Your Mayor and City Council realize that this may have developed your interest about compensation provisions of Torrance's own elected officials and key staff. Rooted in our commitment to a transparent government, the Torrance City Council directed staff to make this more accessible and post this information online. All compensation provisions were adopted in open public sessions and are available in compensation resolutions. We believe, however, that the summary on the following pages will make it easier for you, the citizens, to access and digest this information. As always, you may access full compensation documents at http://www.TorranceCA.Gov/10032.htm or by requesting it from the City Clerk's Office. We thank you for your interest.

Sincerely,
Frank Scotto, Mayor
