The following is the candidate's statement as it appears in the sample ballot.
Good government is responsive to the needs of the public. I have focused on keeping the City Clerk's office a user-friendly, impartial and professional non-partisan resource for citizens and staff.
I have and will continue to
- incorporate efficiencies through the use of technology in the city clerk's office with the use sound document management solutions;
- to expand and improve the internal and external communications that are current hallmarks;
- seek diligently to break down any perce~vedb arriers between citizens and government by looking for creative ways of to make the city's records more easily available.
I hold the title of Certified Municipal Clerk and work with professional organizations in my field to incorporate best practices in Torrance that complement standards set by innovative and professional city staff.
I am active in and support many local organizations including the Torrance Historical Society, the Torrance Sister City Association, the Torrance Cultural Arts Center Foundation, the Torrance Education Foundation, Leadership Torrance Alumni Association, the League of Women Voters Torrance Area, NCADD South Bay and the Torrance Centennial Committee.
I ask for your vote of confidence in my stewardship of the office of city clerk for another four years.
