The following is the candidate's statement as it appears in the sample ballot.
As a former Police Officer and Business owner, I can and will bring experience to the City Council that is needed. I will devote my leadership skills to make sure you get the city services you pay for and deserve. My commitment to our public safety is my first priority followed closely by protecting our seniors and youths. I believe in a fiscally conservative budget and spending priorities. That's how I've lived my life, and that's what I'll work for in Torrance.
My public service as an Airport Commissioner and currently as a Planning Commissioner has demonstrated my public policy skills by always placing the people of Torrance first. I will meet with local business owners to ensure the city meets their needs.
Running for office is a profounddecision, so before I committed myself and family to this election, I want to be sure that this was right for us and more importantly, right for the City of Torrance. Torrance is in need of leadership changes and with your vote this can happen.
Over 40 years as a successful business owner, almost a decade in law enforcement, and a lifetime of public service will translate into accountable, results-oriented governance.
