L.A. County and City of Torrance to Offer Free Flu Shots to South Bay Community (Oct. 24, 2007)

TORRANCE, Calif., Oct. 24, 2007 - Just in time for flu season, the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health in partnership with the City of Torrance, will offer free flu shots to the public on Saturday, November 3, 2007 from 10:00 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Charles H. Wilson Park Sports Complex, located at 2200 Crenshaw Boulevard. Torrance Flags Fly at Half-Staff in Memory of Fallen Soldier, Army Pfc. Joseph Anzack Jr. (May 24, 2007)

TORRANCE, Calif., - The entire Torrance community is deeply saddened by the loss of Torrance soldier, Army Private First Class (Pfc.) Joseph Anzack Jr., whose death in Iraq was confirmed yesterday by the United States Army.  In his memory, Torrance City flags will be flown at half-staff until the morning of Tuesday, May 29, 2007. City flags will also fly at half-staff on the day of his funeral; the date of the funeral has nto yet been set. read more >>

City of Torrance Sadly Announces the Sudden Passing of Previous City Manager Edward J. Ferraro (April 3, 2007)

TORRANCE, Calif.- Torrance City Manager LeRoy J. Jackson sadly announces the sudden death of previous Torrance City Manager, Edward J. Ferraro.  Ed peacefully died in his sleep on Monday, April 2, 2007.  He was 79 years old.  A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2007 at 4:00 p.m. at the Toyota Meeting Hall located in the Torrance Cultural Arts Center, 3300 Civic Center Drive.
