Typical Room Addition (Information Only )
Floor Plan and Foundation Plan

Required Permits (Aa Applicable):

  1. Building
  2. Electrical (For added outlets, lights, etc.).
  3. Plumbing (Gas line for fireplace starter).
  4. Mechanical (Heaters and air conditioning units).

The following information is required to obtain a building permit:

  1. Two copies of drawings containing:

    1. Plot Plan on separate 8 1/2" x 11" sheet of white paper showing the perimeter of lot with distances between existing building and buildings and property lines. (See Typical Room Addition Drawing).
    2. Structural Plan drawn on one side of paper and of sufficient clarity to indicate the nature and extent of the work proposed. Show in detail size of all adjacent rooms with window sizes and type. (See Typical Room Addition Drawing).
  • Show Owner's Name and Job Address and Legal Description of Lot.
  • Foundation and Framing Details.
  • Show size of header over all openings and spans over four feet.
  • Show size and type of all windows and all doors.
  • Show size and direction of all ceiling joists, floor joists and rafters.
  • Wire mesh: 6 x 6 x 10 gauge wire mesh to be installed in any slab floor to be used for living quarters.
