2005 Rose Float

Sketch of the Float

The City of Torrance's 51st entry in the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade will be titled "Something to Crow About" and will feature a lively scene from a "County Fair". "Celebrate Family" is the theme of the upcoming 116th New Year's Day extravaganza. According to Mary Hoffman, serving her ninth term as President of the Torrance Rose Float Association, Fiesta Parade Floats will build the City's float, which was designed by Raul Rodriguez. The float will be decorated by volunteers from the South Bay. The focal point of the float will be a 14 foot tall crow which will be mounted on a turntable and will pivot from side to side. The float will also feature newly hatched baby chicks which will bob, as fuzzy bees buzz the oversized sunflowers and cornstalks in the colorful garden. Join the fun by seeing the Rose Parade in person. There will be a limited number of reserved grandstand seats available for sale, with busing to the Parade from Wilson Park. Contact (310) 618-2930 for details.
